easyJet Launches 26 New Routes for Summer 2025, Including Historic Cape Verde Service

easyJet, the leading low-cost airline, has unveiled its exciting lineup of 26 new routes for summer 2025, marking a significant milestone with its first-ever service to sub-Saharan Africa. This announcement, made on November 19, 2024, reveals a new flight path to the picturesque island of Sal in Cape Verde, located off the coast of Senegal, expanding easyJet’s global reach.

Starting March 31, 2025, easyJet will operate flights from London-Gatwick Airport (LGW) to Sal three times a week—on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays—throughout the summer season. "We’re proud to introduce such a diverse array of new routes and package holidays, offering our customers more choices to explore beloved destinations across Europe and experience new ones," said Ali Gayward, easyJet UK Country Manager. “This includes our historic route to Cape Verde, marking our first sub-Saharan service.”

Expanding EasyJet’s Route Network

Among the newly announced routes, 21 will operate from the UK, including easyJet’s inaugural service to Rimini, Italy, departing from Gatwick. The expansion of routes from London-Luton Airport (LTN) includes new flights to Almeria, Spain, and Funchal, Madeira, available from June 1, 2024.

Key Highlights of New Routes:

  • From Manchester Airport (MAN): New services to Izmir, Kalamata, Larnaca, Madrid, and Rome, starting June 2025.
  • Birmingham Airport (BHX): New flights to Gran Canaria and Malta.
  • Leeds Bradford Airport (LBA): Introduction of routes to Malaga and Palma.
  • Glasgow Airport (GLA): New connections to Antalya, Turkey, and Reus, Spain.
  • Edinburgh Airport (EDI): Flights to Enfidha, Tunisia, Marrakech, Morocco, and Olbia, Sardinia.
  • Belfast International Airport (BFS): Twice-weekly service to Reus.

In addition to these UK routes, easyJet is also expanding its European network with flights from Palma de Mallorca Airport (PMI) to Strasbourg and Palermo, as well as connections from Malaga to Marrakech and Alicante to Athens.

A Thriving Network of Over 1,000 Routes

With this expansion, easyJet’s European short-haul network will now offer more than 1,000 routes to over 160 airports across 37 countries. "Our continued growth and investment in the UK demonstrate the significance of this market for us, as we operated more flights than ever before this year," Gayward added.
