A Robust Cargo Network for the Holidays
Qantas Freight will utilize an extensive fleet to transport essential cargo not just within Australia but also internationally. This year, the airline plans to deploy five international freighters along with passenger aircraft belly space for global goods transport.
The domestic fleet will consist of 20 freighters, including 12 dedicated to Australia Post, which will increase to 16 aircraft during the peak holiday period. Qantas Freight expects to cover over 11 million kilometers—about 745 round trips from Hobart to the North Pole—over this busy season.
During the height of the holiday rush, the airline anticipates moving approximately 1 million kilograms of cargo daily—an astounding 70% increase from regular daily volumes. The holiday cargo list includes:
