Korean Air Celebrates 30 Years of Connecting South Korea and China
Korean Air has achieved a remarkable milestone by celebrating 30 years of service between South Korea and China. Since launching its inaugural flight on December 22, 1994, the airline has played a pivotal role in enhancing travel and trade between these two nations. To mark this significant anniversary, Korean Air hosted a series of engaging events at four major Chinese airports, commemorating three decades of connectivity and cultural exchange.
Commemorative Events Across Major Airports
On December 22, 2024, Korean Air organized passenger appreciation events at Beijing Capital International Airport (PEK) and Shenyang Taoxian International Airport (SHE). These celebrations included exciting giveaways, such as roundtrip Prestige Class tickets to South Korea, awarded to the 30th passenger on specific flights: KE2202 from Beijing to Seoul Gimpo Airport (GMP) and KE832 from Shenyang to Seoul Incheon Airport (ICN). Additionally, all attendees received exclusive 30th anniversary commemorative tote bags, making the occasion even more special.
Upcoming Celebrations
Korean Air has planned further celebrations at Tianjin Binhai International Airport (TSN) and Qingdao Jiaodong International Airport (TAO) on December 24, 2024. These events will coincide with flights KE806 (Tianjin to Seoul Incheon) and KE846 (Qingdao to Seoul Incheon), ensuring that more passengers can join in the festivities.
A Legacy of Service and Support
Since its first flight from Incheon International Airport (ICN) to Beijing, Korean Air has expanded its network to operate 27 routes to 21 cities across China. The airline is not only known for its commitment to passenger service but also for its humanitarian efforts. Over the years, Korean Air has provided vital support during emergencies, including flood relief in Hubei Province in 1998, aid after the Sichuan earthquake in 2008, student exchanges to Jeju Island, and medical supply donations to Wuhan during the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic.
