Air India Express Launches Non-Stop Flights from Hyderabad to Phuket

HYDERABAD – Air India Express (IX), the budget subsidiary of India’s national carrier, Air India (AI), is set to introduce non-stop flights connecting Hyderabad (HYD) to the stunning Thai destination of Phuket (HKT) starting January 31, 2025. This significant development marks Air India Express’s exciting entry into the Southeast Asian market, enhancing travel options for both leisure and business travelers.

The new service highlights the airline’s commitment to meeting the growing demand for flights between India and Thailand. With the addition of this route, Air India Express aims to provide seamless connectivity, making it the first-ever direct flight linking Hyderabad and Phuket.

Air India Express Hyderabad to Phuket Flights

The inaugural flights will operate three times a week, specifically on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. The use of the Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft promises a comfortable travel experience. Following the initial launch, the frequency of flights will be increased to six times weekly starting February 20, 2025.

Flight Schedule:

  • Wednesdays and Fridays:
    • Depart Hyderabad (HYD) at 12:20 PM IST, arriving in Phuket (HKT) at 5:35 PM local time.
  • Sundays:
    • Depart Hyderabad (HYD) at 11:50 AM IST, arriving in Phuket (HKT) at 5:05 PM local time.

Return Flights:

  • Wednesdays and Fridays:
    • Depart Phuket (HKT) at 6:20 PM local time, arriving in Hyderabad (HYD) at 8:25 PM IST.
  • Sundays:
    • Depart Phuket (HKT) at 6:05 PM local time, arriving in Hyderabad (HYD) at 8:10 PM IST.

Air India Express’s First Step into Phuket

While Air India Express has long served popular destinations like Bangkok (BKK), this marks its inaugural service to Phuket, catering to a surge in leisure travel interest. This strategic move is part of Air India Express’s broader plan to enhance its Thailand network, with speculations suggesting a potential future route connecting Surat (STV) to Phuket (HKT).

The increased interest in the Thailand-India travel corridor has also prompted other airlines to consider expanding their services. Recent reports indicate that AirAsia Thailand is eyeing new routes between Kochi (COK) and Phuket (HKT), while Thai VietJet Air has recently launched non-stop flights between Mumbai (BOM) and Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK).
