VietJet’s Growing Indian Network
The introduction of these flights is part of VietJet’s strategy to expand its footprint in India, which already includes operations to Delhi, Mumbai, and Ahmedabad. With the addition of Bengaluru and Hyderabad, VietJet is well-positioned to cater to the increasing demand for affordable travel options between India and Southeast Asia.
- Current Operations: Flights to Delhi and Mumbai from both Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
- Future Potential: The airline is keen to tap into the growing Indian tourism market, which is increasingly looking towards Vietnam for its diverse offerings.
The airline’s expansion strategy is aimed at making it the leading carrier between India and Vietnam, enhancing connectivity, and providing competitive fares for travelers.
Boosting Regional Tourism
Vietnam has emerged as a favored destination for Indian tourists, thanks to its affordability and rich cultural offerings. The introduction of non-stop flights from Bengaluru and Hyderabad will significantly ease travel for Indian tourists, allowing them to explore Vietnam’s attractions—ranging from the stunning beaches of Da Nang to the bustling streets of Ho Chi Minh City—without the need for layovers.
Additionally, Vietnam’s visa-on-arrival policy for Indian citizens and promotion of Indian cuisine are making the country increasingly appealing to Indian travelers. VietJet’s expansive network offers seamless connections to various destinations, further enhancing travel convenience.
A Long-Awaited Development
This launch has been in the works for quite some time. VietJet previously expressed interest in operating flights to Bengaluru and Hyderabad, but approvals were delayed due to bilateral air service agreements. However, recent amendments allowing for increased weekly flights have finally paved the way for these long-awaited routes.
The Road Ahead
As VietJet Air continues to expand its services in India, the new flights to Bengaluru and Hyderabad are expected to drive passenger traffic and bolster cultural exchanges between the two countries. With Vietnam Airlines also eyeing expansion in India, the air travel landscape between India and Vietnam is set to grow even more competitive.
In conclusion, these new routes are a significant step towards making Vietnam a more accessible and attractive destination for travelers from South India. As travel options expand, both Indian and Vietnamese tourists stand to benefit from enhanced connectivity and cultural exploration.
