Currently, United Airlines operates at 6% higher capacity from SFO compared to pre-pandemic levels, with a remarkable 20% increase over last year’s operations. The expansion underscores the airline’s commitment to meeting the growing demand for air travel in the Bay Area.

United Airlines currently serves 111 destinations worldwide from San Francisco and anticipates approximately 300 daily flights this summer. This marks the highest operational capacity since 2019, outperforming all other airlines in the Bay Area.

In the past four years, the airline has expanded its network with 11 new international and nine domestic destinations. Notable reinstated services include flights to New Orleans, Kansas City, Detroit, and St. Louis. Additionally, United is set to launch exciting new routes to San Jose, Costa Rica, and Panama City, Panama, next month.

A significant component of United’s growth strategy at SFO is the ongoing $2.6 billion construction project aimed at modernizing and expanding Terminal 3. Set to be completed by 2029, this initiative will enhance United Airlines’ operational capabilities and improve the overall customer experience.

With over 13,000 local team members, the airline hired more than 1,600 airport operations employees last year and plans to add another 1,200 positions by 2025. • All-Electric Air Taxi Service: United plans to introduce commercial air taxi services through its partnership with Archer, utilizing the Midnight aircraft, which is designed to reduce carbon emissions.
• Mobile Innovations: United has integrated advanced features into its mobile app, including real-time radar maps and alternative travel options during disruptions, making the travel process more seamless for customers.
