Embraer Marks Hunnu Air’s Inaugural E195-E2 Flights to China
Hunnu Air Launches Scheduled Flights to Mainland China with New E195-E2 Aircraft
Hunnu Air has officially commenced its inaugural scheduled flights into mainland China using the state-of-the-art E195-E2 aircraft, marking a significant milestone for both the airline and the region. This exciting development was announced on May 11, 2025, and the first flight successfully connected Ulaanbaatar to Beijing’s Daxing International Airport (PKX), showcasing the capabilities of the new Embraer aircraft.
The launch event, co-hosted by Hunnu Air, Embraer, and Beijing Daxing Airport, celebrated this historic route. Although the official announcement was made on May 11, Flightradar24 data indicates that Hunnu Air’s first E195-E2 aircraft, registered as EI-HUN, made its initial flight to PKX on May 5, 2025.
Strengthening International Ties
Munkhjargal Purevjal, CEO of Hunnu Air, emphasized the significance of this new route, stating, “The launch of this route with our new E195-E2 aircraft reflects Hunnu Air’s determination to expand our international network and symbolizes the deepening friendship and collaboration between Mongolia and China in this new era.”
Purevjal highlighted the transition from their first-generation E190 aircraft to the advanced E195-E2, which is perfectly poised to meet the increasing demand for both domestic and international travel. He added, “We expect that E2 will become a backbone of our long-term growth, enabling us to deliver unparalleled connectivity across the region.”
Expanding Connectivity Across Asia
Hunnu Air plans to leverage its new E195-E2 aircraft to enhance service capacity to popular destinations, including Haikou, Sanya, and Phu Quoc. The airline also aims to expand its reach into Japan, Vietnam, India, South Korea, and introduce scheduled flights to Tashkent.
Martyn Holmes, CCO of Embraer Commercial Aviation, expressed pride in this collaboration, stating, “The deployment of the E195-E2 on this key route underscores the depth of our partnership with Hunnu Air and our shared responsibility to ensure safe, efficient, and sustainable operations.” He reiterated that the appropriately sized E2 aircraft will enable Hunnu Air to profitably grow while unlocking the vast potential of Mongolia and reinforcing a growing network across Asia.
Regulatory Milestones
In a significant step towards enhancing air travel in Mongolia, Embraer announced on April 16, 2024, that both the E190-E2 and E195-E2 jets received type certification from the Mongolia Civil Aviation Authority (MCAA). This regulatory approval paves the way for Hunnu Air to expand its fleet and improve air travel options for passengers in the region.
Conclusion
Hunnu Air’s new scheduled flights to mainland China with the E195-E2 aircraft represent a strong commitment to expanding international connectivity in Asia. As more passengers seek seamless travel options across borders, Hunnu Air is poised to play a crucial role in enhancing regional air travel.
