Emirates Expands East Asia Network with New Flights to Da Nang and Siem Reap

In a significant move to enhance its East Asia operations, Emirates Airlines has launched two new routes connecting Bangkok to Da Nang, Vietnam, and Siem Reap, Cambodia. This expansion, effective June 4, 2025, marks a pivotal moment for Emirates as it strengthens its presence in Southeast Asia, showcasing the airline’s commitment to regional connectivity and innovation in travel.

The inaugural flights to these vibrant destinations were celebrated with traditional water cannon salutes and warm welcomes from local dignitaries. This expansion brings Emirates’ total destinations in East Asia to 23, further solidifying its status as the world’s largest international airline.

Emirates’ New Flights to Da Nang and Siem Reap

The first flight to Da Nang (DAD) took off on June 2, followed by the launch to Siem Reap (SAI) on June 3. Emirates utilizes its Boeing 777-300ER aircraft for these routes, providing passengers with the airline’s renowned service and seamless connections through Dubai (DXB) and its extensive global network.

Nabil Sultan, Emirates’ Executive Vice President for Passenger Sales and Country Management, emphasized the importance of these new routes in reinforcing the airline’s role as a key player in Southeast Asia. “These launches reflect our long-standing commitment to Thailand as a strategic gateway and enhance connectivity across Dubai, Bangkok, and our new destinations, Da Nang and Siem Reap,” Sultan stated.

Strengthening Vietnam Operations

With the addition of Da Nang, Emirates now operates three gateways in Vietnam, joining Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. This expansion supports vital cargo operations, including electronics and textiles, and positions Emirates as a major player in Vietnam’s growing economy.

Emirates conducts 25 weekly flights to Vietnam, bolstered by strong partnerships with local airlines like Vietnam Airlines and VietJet. These collaborations aim to enhance air connectivity and promote tourism in the region.

Expanding Services to Cambodia

The new Dubai-Bangkok-Siem Reap route will operate three times a week, complementing Emirates’ daily service to Phnom Penh (PNH) via Singapore (SIN). With this expansion, the airline increases its total flights to Cambodia to 10 weekly, significantly enhancing travel options for both leisure and business travelers.

This strategic move targets key markets in Europe and opens up opportunities for cultural exchanges, bolstered by Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreements between the UAE and both Cambodia and Vietnam.

Celebrating Expansion in Bangkok

Emirates celebrated its new routes with a cake-cutting ceremony at its recently renovated lounge at Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport. As the airline’s largest lounge outside Dubai, this facility underscores Bangkok’s critical role in Emirates’ Southeast Asia growth strategy.

A Vision for Growth

Emirates’ expansion in Southeast Asia aligns with its broader growth strategy, fueled by strong bilateral relations and increasing travel demand. The airline is committed to leveraging its established diplomatic ties and partnerships with various stakeholders to continue serving these dynamic markets effectively.
