SYDNEY- Qantas (QF) has announced an extension of its direct flight service from Brisbane (BNE) to Koror, Palau (ROR) for an additional year, responding to robust demand. This route, which began operations in December 2024, is enhancing connectivity between Australia and the idyllic Pacific island.

Dubbed the “Palau Paradise Express,” this flight will continue under a government contract, fostering essential trade, tourism, and cultural connections between Australia and Palau.

The extension of Qantas’ Brisbane to Palau service is a response to a significant surge in demand. In the first half of 2025, Palau saw a staggering 113% increase in visitor arrivals compared to the same time last year.

Many Australian visitors are discovering Palau, with approximately 75% exploring the island for the first time. This trend reinforces Palau’s reputation as a leading eco-tourism destination.

Renowned for its unspoiled natural beauty and rich cultural heritage, Palau’s UNESCO-listed Rock Islands and vibrant coral reefs draw divers and adventure enthusiasts alike.

The weekly flights, departing Brisbane on Saturdays, utilize a Qantas Boeing 737 and take about six hours to reach Palau. The schedule caters to travelers looking to unwind and explore.
