India’s Revamped T2 Airport to Resume Operations Next Month

DELHI- A significant transformation is on the horizon for the Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL) in New Delhi, with the newly renovated Terminal 2 scheduled to commence operations on October 26, 2025.

Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL), the airport’s operating authority, has announced that the terminal will be ready to service domestic flights starting on that date.

This change is aligned with a comprehensive expansion strategy to better manage airport traffic and alleviate congestion in other terminals.

Operations at Revamped Terminal 2

Delhi International Airport, known as India’s busiest airport, has seen a surge in passenger traffic. This makes the operational launch of the revamped Terminal 2 essential for effective capacity management.

As of October 26, 2025, domestic flights from airlines such as IndiGo and Go First will begin serving passengers from this new terminal. This adjustment aims to alleviate the pressure on Terminals 1 and 3.

IndiGo, being the primary domestic airline, along with Go First, will help distribute the traffic more evenly across the airport.

Upgrades at Terminal 2

Terminal 2 has undergone significant enhancements, including upgraded check-in counters, increased security lanes, and improved baggage handling systems.

The waiting areas for passengers have been modernized with better seating options, improved lighting, and a wider variety of food and beverage services.
