Aeroméxico Introduces Exciting New Routes to Barcelona and Paris
Mexican airline Aeroméxico has announced exciting new connections to Europe, set to begin on November 10, 2025.
Starting March 28, 2026, Aeroméxico will offer six weekly flights from Mexico City International Airport Benito Juárez (MEX) to Barcelona-El Prat (BCN).
A few days later, on April 13, 2026, the airline will introduce a new thrice-weekly nonstop service between Monterrey (MTY) and Paris-Charles de Gaulle (CDG).
Enhancing Connectivity
This new route will complement Aeroméxico’s existing daily flights between Mexico City and Paris. Passengers traveling through CDG can easily connect to a wide array of European destinations and beyond, thanks to partnerships with other SkyTeam member airlines like Air France.
Paris becomes the second European city served from Monterrey, following Madrid-Barajas (MAD).
Additionally, Spanish airline Iberia plans to introduce its own nonstop flights linking Madrid and Monterrey in June 2026. Monterrey stands as Mexico’s third-largest city and a significant industrial center, making these connections vital.
Return to Barcelona
The new route to Barcelona signifies Aeroméxico’s return to the Catalan capital after a previous attempt that ended due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The last operation occurred between 2019 and 2020, but the airline struggled to solidify the route over the years.
Since then, there have been multiple mentions of resuming this service, culminating in the upcoming launch.
Aeroméxico will face competition from Emirates, which has provided daily flights from Barcelona to Mexico City since 2018. This service, conducted with a Boeing 777-300ER, is part of Emirates’ daily operations between Dubai (DXB) and Barcelona.
Innovative Aircraft
For both the Mexico City to Barcelona and Monterrey to Paris routes, Aeroméxico plans to utilize Boeing 787 aircraft, known for their comfort and efficiency.
With these developments, are you excited about the new travel options between Mexico and Europe?
