Air Europa Secures MoU for Up to 40 Airbus A350-900s at Dubai Airshow 2025

Air Europa has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Airbus for as many as 40 A350-900 aircraft. This significant agreement signals an important development in the airline’s efforts to renew its long-haul fleet. The announcement was made during the Dubai Airshow 2025 on November 18, 2025.

Currently, Air Europa’s long-haul operations primarily utilize the Boeing 787 Dreamliner, with a heavy focus on Latin America, one of Europe’s most competitive long-haul markets. The addition of the A350-900 is anticipated to speed up the replacement of aging widebody aircraft and enhance Air Europa’s competitiveness on transatlantic routes, where demand remains high.

The range, reduced fuel consumption, and advanced cabin features of the A350-900 are aligned with Air Europa’s long-term strategic plans for its network.

Air Europa’s President, Juan Jose Hidalgo, emphasized that this order represents a pivotal moment for the airline. He referred to the A350-900 as a transformative aircraft for routes to Latin America, noting its advantages in passenger comfort, operational efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.

Benoît de Saint-Exupéry, Airbus’s Executive Vice President of Sales for Commercial Aircraft, expressed pride in having Air Europa join the A350 operator group. He described the agreement as a significant endorsement of the A350 platform and stated that Airbus is committed to supporting Air Europa’s expansion plans in long-haul markets.

Details regarding the delivery schedule for the new aircraft have not been released.
