Turkish Airlines Sets New Record with Expanded Service to Asian Capital
Turkish Airlines has further solidified its position as the airline with the widest reach, now extending its service to Cambodia’s capital, Phnom Penh.
On December 12, 2025, Turkish Airlines revealed its plans to launch a new thrice-weekly service to this vibrant city, becoming the first European airline to do so.
In December 2024, the airline earned recognition from Guinness World Records for operating flights to the most countries worldwide, a testament to its extensive global presence.
With the introduction of flights to Phnom Penh, Cambodia marks the 132nd destination in Turkish Airlines’ expansive network.
Turkish Airlines’ CEO, Bilal Ekşi, emphasized the airline’s ongoing commitment to connecting continents. He stated, “Adding Cambodia as our 132nd country is a significant advancement for us. This route will unlock exciting opportunities for tourism and business.”
Ekşi also highlighted the distinction of being the only European airline serving this destination, enhancing Turkish Airlines’ leadership position in Southeast Asia.
Flights will operate from Istanbul to Phnom Penh on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, with return flights scheduled on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.

This new route elevates Cambodia to the seventh country that Turkish Airlines serves in Southeast Asia, bringing the total to 11 cities in the region.
A Turkish Airlines spokesperson noted, “This new destination facilitates easier access to a key location in Southeast Asia and showcases the unmatched connectivity offered by the Turkish flag carrier.”
