flyDubai Launches New Service to Paris of the North
DUBAI- This week, Riga celebrated the launch of a new long-haul connection as flydubai introduced direct flights from Dubai International Airport (DXB) to Riga International Airport (RIX).
The Dubai-based airline has become the first carrier from the UAE to provide nonstop services to the Latvian capital, with flights set to operate three times a week.
The inaugural flight was a significant achievement for regional connectivity, establishing Riga as flydubai’s latest gateway in Northern Europe. This new service enhances access between Latvia and Dubai’s versatile aviation hub, facilitating easier travel options through flydubai’s partnership with Emirates.

With a ceremonial welcome in Riga, flydubai kicked off the new route, greeted by airport officials and local dignitaries.
This connection caters to the increasing demand for direct travel between the Baltics and the Middle East, offering travelers shorter journeys and easier itineraries.
Noora Juma, the UAE Ambassador to Latvia, remarked that these flights signify a new chapter in bilateral ties, promoting tourism, trade, and cultural connections. The route also enables Latvian travelers to explore various destinations in Asia, Africa, and Australasia via Dubai.


Europe Network Expansion
The introduction of the Riga service is part of flydubai’s extensive European growth initiative, now covering 35 destinations in 20 countries.
Recently, the airline has also started direct flights to Chișinău, Iași, and Vilnius, underlining its commitment to underrepresented and emerging markets.
As per flydubai executives, Europe remains a key region, given its diverse travel interests and robust connections to the Gulf. The airline is investing in fleet upgrades and enhancing onboard services to remain competitive on medium-haul routes.


Flight Schedule And Fares
The Dubai–Riga route operates biennially with evening departures from Dubai and late-night returns from Riga.
This schedule not only supports direct travel but also complements convenient connections through Dubai’s central hub.
Return Economy Class Lite fares from Dubai begin at AED 1,815, while Business Class fares start from AED 7,505. Travelers from Riga can find return Business Class fares from EUR 1,440 and Economy Class Lite from EUR 360, providing diverse pricing options.


The flights utilize flydubai’s Boeing 737 fleet, which includes a two-class cabin layout. Business Class offers lie-flat seats, enhanced meal options, and a quieter environment suited for longer flights.
Economy Class passengers enjoy complimentary inflight entertainment and meal selections, aligning with the airline’s commitment to providing value-driven comfort.
Moreover, the flydubai–Emirates partnership offers travelers access to a joint network exceeding 240 destinations, complete with through-checked baggage services.
