Emirates Launches Premium Economy in 10 Cities, Adds A350 to 3 Routes

Emirates is set to introduce its Premium Economy cabin across 10 more cities in its growing network. The airline is also ramping up daily flights to Copenhagen, Phuket, and Cape Town. This expansion is part of Emirates’ retrofit program, aimed at making Premium Economy accessible on over 84 routes by July 1, 2026, through updates to its Boeing 777s, A380s, and the new Airbus A350 aircraft.

A350 Deployment

Starting June 1, 2026, Emirates will launch its new A350 aircraft with daily flights from Dubai International Airport (DXB) to Copenhagen Airport (CPH). This service will also include routes to both Phuket International Airport (HKT) and Cape Town International Airport (CPT) beginning July 1, 2026. The A350 features the Premium Economy cabin that is complemented by modernized Business and Economy Class areas.

Passengers travelling to Copenhagen can look forward to new connections to East Asian locations such as Bangkok, Bali, Manila, and Tokyo Haneda, along with access to cities like Colombo and several African hubs like Nairobi and Entebbe.

For the Phuket route, an additional daily frequency will cater especially to travelers returning from various European cities, including Manchester, Amsterdam, and Paris. Similarly, flights to Cape Town will accommodate strong demand during peak travel seasons, offering streamlined connections to London, Dublin, and various Asian destinations.

Premium Economy Phased Rollout

Emirates has announced that its Premium Economy service will gradually launch in different regions during the first half of 2026:

Europe and North America: Retrofits for Boeing 777s will start with Barcelona and Mexico City in February 2026. Rome will switch to A350 service on March 29, 2026.

This phased rollout allows Emirates to provide consistent Premium Economy offerings on long-haul routes while aligning with the expected surge in summer travel. The cabin offers extra legroom, improved dining options, and specialized amenities, bridging the gap between Economy and Business Class. As the airline rebounds from pandemic challenges, this expansion reflects Emirates’ commitment to enhancing passenger experiences.
