BENGALURU – Air India Express, a subsidiary of the Tata Group, has announced an exciting expansion of its international operations with the introduction of non-stop flights connecting Bengaluru (BLR) and Tiruchirappalli (TRZ) to Dammam (DMM), Saudi Arabia. This new service, set to commence on January 1 and January 2, 2025, respectively, positions Air India Express as the first and only airline to provide direct flights between these Indian cities and Dammam, marking a significant milestone in its Middle Eastern expansion.

Starting January 1, 2025, Air India Express will operate tri-weekly flights from Bengaluru to Dammam. Key flight details include:

• Flight IX484 departs Dammam at 5:50 AM local time and arrives in Bengaluru at 12:50 PM.
• Return Flight IX483 leaves Bengaluru at 1:50 PM and lands in Dammam at 4:30 PM local time.

These flights will utilize the Boeing 737 MAX-8 aircraft, providing passengers with a modern and comfortable travel experience.

Tiruchirappalli-Dammam Flight Schedule:

Beginning January 2, 2025, Air India Express will also offer bi-weekly flights from Tiruchirappalli to Dammam. Flight details include:

• Flight IX927 will depart Tiruchirappalli at 06:05 AM and reach Dammam at 09:10 AM local time.
• Return Flight IX928 will leave Dammam at 10:10 AM and arrive in Tiruchirappalli at 05:40 PM.

Bengaluru-Dammam Market Overview

The Bengaluru-Dammam route is primarily tailored for Visiting Friends and Relatives (VFR) traffic, catering to a significant number of Indian expatriates working in Saudi Arabia. This demographic, coupled with business travelers and pilgrims, has led to a substantial demand for direct flights. In the financial year 2023-24, the sector recorded over 43,000 flyers, showcasing the robust potential for these new services.
