Dominican carrier Arajet has officially entered the U.S. market with its inaugural flight service connecting Las Américas International Airport (SDQ) in Santo Domingo to Miami International Airport (MIA), which commenced on April 14, 2025. This expansion comes on the heels of an Open Skies agreement signed between the U.S. and the Dominican Republic in December 2024, which has paved the way for new routes and increased frequencies.

Arajet is not stopping at Miami and Punta Cana. The airline has outlined ambitious growth plans that include:

  • June 4, 2025: Launching a new route between Santo Domingo and San Juan, Puerto Rico.
  • June 16, 2025: Commencing a four-times-weekly service to Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR).

As Arajet expands its fleet with more Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, additional routes are expected to be announced, enhancing its footprint across the Americas.
