Qatar Airways and Philippine Airlines Launch Strategic Codeshare Agreement

In a significant move to enhance global travel connectivity, Qatar Airways (QR) and Philippine Airlines (PR) have announced a new codeshare agreement. This partnership will expand service connections between Doha (DOH) and Manila (MNL), allowing travelers from both regions to enjoy greater access to international destinations. Starting June 16, 2025, this collaboration aims to streamline travel for passengers and bolster economic ties between Qatar and the Philippines.

Expanded Flight Services Between Doha and Manila

The codeshare agreement will enable Philippine Airlines to operate daily nonstop flights from Manila (MNL) to Doha (DOH). Initially, Qatar Airways will place its code on these seven weekly flights, significantly enhancing travel options for passengers. The daily service departs Manila at 18:50, arriving in Doha at 23:40, creating optimal connections to Qatar Airways’ extensive global network, which spans over 170 destinations across Africa, the Americas, Central Asia, Europe, and the Middle East.

Seamless Transfers Through Hamad International Airport

Travelers will benefit from smooth transfers at Hamad International Airport (DOH), which was awarded the title of World’s Best Airport in the Middle East by Skytrax in 2025. For passengers traveling eastbound, those arriving in Doha on Qatar Airways flights can easily connect to Philippine Airlines’ daily service, which departs Doha at 01:30 and reaches Manila’s Ninoy Aquino International Airport (MNL) at 16:15.

Commitment to Global Connectivity

Mr. Thierry Antinori, Chief Commercial Officer of Qatar Airways, expressed the airline’s dedication to enhancing global connectivity. He stated, “Our latest partnership with Philippine Airlines is a testament to our commitment to strengthening connectivity worldwide. This collaboration also aims to deepen socio-economic ties between the Qatari and Filipino communities.”

Philippine Airlines President and COO, Captain Stanley K. Ng, highlighted the benefits of the partnership, noting that as Philippine Airlines expands its global presence, the alliance will facilitate new connections and stimulate tourism and trade growth between the Philippines and Qatar.

Flight Schedule and Aircraft Details

The daily nonstop flights will be operated using Philippine Airlines’ long-range Airbus A330-300 aircraft, featuring two cabin classes: 18 flat-bed seats in Business Class and 341 seats in Economy Class. The flight schedule is as follows:

• Manila (MNL) to Doha (DOH) – Flight PR684: Departure 18:50, Arrival 23:40
• Doha (DOH) to Manila (MNL) – Flight PR685: Departure 01:30, Arrival 16:15

Both airlines are also exploring further collaboration opportunities, including joint promotions of additional destinations and the potential integration of their frequent flyer programs.

Qatar Airways’ Extensive Codeshare Network

This new partnership enhances Qatar Airways’ already extensive codeshare network, which includes agreements with major global airlines such as American Airlines, British Airways, Japan Airlines, and Cathay Pacific, among others. These collaborations create a seamless travel experience for passengers, allowing for integrated booking systems and coordinated flight schedules.
