Air New Zealand Unveils Upgraded Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner for Enhanced Travel Experience
Air New Zealand has announced the debut of its newly retrofitted Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, set to be available for booking starting May 7, 2025. This innovative aircraft, registered as ZK-NZH, is currently undergoing final testing in Auckland and is slated for its inaugural flight on May 19, 2025, from Auckland Airport (AKL) to Brisbane Airport (BNE). Key Features of the New Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner

The airline’s second 787-9 is also in Singapore undergoing similar upgrades, with plans to complete retrofitting all 14 aircraft in the fleet by the end of 2026.

Foran highlighted that this retrofit marks the first-ever full nose-to-tail update of a 787-9 Dreamliner, introducing a new onboard product after more than 15 years. The redesigned Dreamliners will primarily operate on routes between Auckland and major destinations, including Brisbane, San Francisco, Rarotonga International Airport (RAR), and Vancouver International Airport (YVR). Additional routes are expected to be announced as the retrofit progresses.
