Cathay Pacific Launches Non-Stop A350 Flights to Adelaide
Cathay Pacific Resumes Non-Stop Flights from Hong Kong to Adelaide
Cathay Pacific (CX) is set to enhance its Southwest Pacific network by resuming non-stop flights from Hong Kong (HKG) to Adelaide (ADL) starting November 11, 2025. This exciting development marks a significant step in improving connectivity for travelers and cargo, with flights scheduled three times a week.
The service will utilize the modern Airbus A350-900 aircraft, offering passengers a choice of Business, Premium Economy, and Economy cabins. This expansion not only boosts travel options but also strengthens the airline’s commitment to facilitating seamless travel between Hong Kong and Adelaide.
Cathay Pacific’s Strategic Flight Resumption
Cathay Pacific’s decision to restart its non-stop flights to Adelaide reflects a strategic move to reinforce its presence in the region. The flights will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays from Hong Kong, with return flights on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. This service enhances travel access during the winter season, reconnecting a route first launched in 1992.
This route holds historical significance for Cathay Pacific and South Australia, highlighted by a 30-year partnership with Flight Training Adelaide, which has trained many of the airline’s cadet pilots. With this addition, Cathay Pacific plans to operate nearly 90 return flights weekly to and from the Southwest Pacific during peak season, further establishing itself as a crucial carrier for both outbound and inbound travel.
Flight Schedule for Adelaide Service
Cathay Pacific has confirmed the flight schedule for its Adelaide service, effective from November 11, 2025, to March 27, 2026. The flights are subject to regulatory approval and are as follows:

Enhanced Cargo Capacity
In addition to passenger travel, the new Adelaide service significantly boosts cargo logistics through the aircraft’s belly capacity. This service complements Cathay Cargo’s existing two weekly freighter flights to the Southwest Pacific during the winter months, supporting increasing demand for trade and e-commerce between the region and global markets.
The direct air cargo connection between Adelaide and Hong Kong provides additional value for exporters and importers in critical sectors such as seafood, pharmaceuticals, and high-value perishables, which are essential to South Australia’s export portfolio.
Global Network Expansion
Cathay Pacific, along with its subsidiary HK Express (UO), is expanding its global network by adding 16 new destinations in 2025. Adelaide joins recent additions like Hyderabad (HYD), Dallas (DFW), and Urumqi (URC), with planned launches for Rome (FCO), Munich (MUC), and Brussels (BRU) later this year. Together, the Cathay Group aims to serve 100 global passenger destinations by mid-2025, reinforcing Hong Kong (HKG) as a premier aviation hub linking Asia with Oceania, Europe, and the Americas.
