Emirates Launches Starlink Wi-Fi Service with First Enhanced A380

Emirates made a significant announcement on the opening day of the Dubai Airshow 2025, revealing their plans to implement Starlink Wi-Fi across their entire fleet, including the iconic Airbus A380s and Boeing 777s.

On November 17, 2025, the airline confirmed that a Boeing 777-300ER, designated A6-EP, currently showcased at the Dubai Airshow, already features this technology for attendees to experience.

All passengers will have complimentary access to Starlink Wi-Fi, with the airline aiming for full fleet implementation by mid-2027.

The airline plans to equip approximately 14 aircraft monthly with Starlink, starting the installation on its Airbus A380 fleet in February 2026.

“Partnering with Starlink is a pivotal moment in our unwavering commitment to enhance the flying experience,” stated Sir Tim Clark, President of Emirates. “We’re introducing top-tier Wi-Fi, allowing passengers to maintain productivity, enjoy real-time communication with loved ones, and stay fully connected to their digital lives.”

The buzz was palpable as the Dubai Airshow kicked off, showcasing the innovations set to shape the future of aerospace. Attendees engaged in vibrant conversations, discovering emerging technologies within the industry.

Sir Tim further noted, “Emirates’ philosophy is straightforward yet impactful: we aim for consistency. Unlike others who offer a varying range of products, we want all passengers to experience Emirates’ premium offerings, regardless of the route or aircraft type. This is why we are committing substantial resources to our retrofit program.”

Each Boeing 777 will have two antennas installed, while the Airbus A380 will boast an industry-first three antennas. In total, 232 aircraft are slated for this internet upgrade.

The inaugural Emirates commercial flight featuring Starlink will take flight promptly after the Dubai Airshow 2025 as A6-EPF resumes operations.

“With Starlink on board your Emirates flight, you can stream, game, and enjoy seamless video calls, just like you do on the ground. We’re eager to revolutionize Emirates’ travel experience and expedite the Starlink installation while ensuring top-notch service quality,” commented Chad Gibbs, VP of Starlink Business Operations, SpaceX.

At this year’s Dubai Airshow, Emirates is showcasing an Airbus A380, Boeing 777, and Airbus A350, along with the recently delivered Gamebird GB1 aircraft from the Emirates Flight Training Academy.
