All Qatar Airways A350s Now Equipped with Starlink; Dreamliners Next
Following the successful installation of Starlink Wi-Fi across 54 Boeing 777s in July 2025, Qatar Airways has quickly shifted its focus to enhancing connectivity on its fleet of 62 Airbus A350s.
The airline efficiently completed the upgrade for the 777s within nine months, significantly quicker than the projected two-year timeline.
On January 7, 2026, Qatar Airways announced that all A350-900s and A350-1000s were equipped with Elon Musk’s high-speed satellite-powered Wi-Fi.
According to the airline, the upgrade process for the A350s wrapped up in December 2025, achieving this milestone in an impressive eight months.
Additionally, Qatar Airways has begun the installation of Starlink on its Boeing 787 Dreamliners, a pioneering endeavor in the global aviation sector.
Currently, three Boeing 787 Dreamliners are operational with Starlink, bringing the total number of Qatar Airways aircraft with this advanced technology to almost 120.
“In just 14 months, Qatar Airways initiated and completed the installations for both the Boeing 777 and Airbus A350, and then extended the project to include the Boeing 787 Dreamliners,” said a spokesperson for the airline.
Qatar Airways achieved a series of industry firsts in inflight connectivity: launching the world’s first 787-8 Dreamliner equipped with @Starlink, completing the A350 rollout programme, and connecting over 11 million global passengers with the fastest wi-fi in the sky.

They further emphasized: “This advancement solidifies the airline’s status as a leader in Starlink-enabled long-haul and ultra-long-haul connectivity, while also claiming the distinction of having the world’s first and largest Starlink-equipped A350 fleet—building on Qatar Airways’ historic role as the aircraft’s global launch customer.”
As of now, over 10 million passengers have enjoyed the complimentary service provided by Qatar Airways.
Advantages of Starlink for Flight and Cabin Crews
The upgraded Starlink technology is also enhancing the experience for flight and cabin crew members, providing them with real-time data and updates throughout their journey.
Flight and roster information are now delivered instantly to crew devices, improving operational coordination during flights.
This enhancement allows for better coordination between cabin crews and ground teams during medical emergencies or service-related matters, leading to quicker decision-making and fewer delays.
Moreover, engineers on the ground can monitor the inflight entertainment systems during flights, allowing them to prepare recovery plans ahead of landing, which optimizes turnaround times.
