Malaysia Aviation Group Names New Airline Chief Amid Strategic Reshuffle

Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG) has announced the appointment of two key executives as the organization transitions from recovery towards a phase of expansion, aligned with its long-term business goals.

Bryan Foong Chee Yeong is set to become the Chief Executive Officer of Airline Business, while Low Wen Long will take on the role of Group Chief Strategy Officer, effective February 1, 2026. These changes reflect the group’s commitment to “scaled and disciplined growth” after navigating through challenging times during the pandemic.

Both will report to Captain Nasaruddin A. Bakar, who will also assume the role of President and Group CEO on the same date.

Strategic Restructuring

In his new position, Foong will manage the performance and direction of MAG’s airline services, including the flagship carrier Malaysia Airlines and regional providers Firefly and Amal. He previously served as the Group Chief Strategy Officer, playing a crucial role in guiding the company through financial restructuring amidst the COVID-19 crisis and steering it back to profitability.

“As MAG embarks on the next phase of its transformation—transitioning from stabilization to scalable and disciplined growth—we feel a profound responsibility to build a financially viable and globally competitive aviation entity,” Captain Nasaruddin stated in a recent announcement.

Expanded Leadership Team

This realignment is part of MAG’s broader executive strategy. Foong and Low will join a leadership structure that includes Mohd Nadziruddin Mohd Basri as CEO of Aviation Services and Philip See leading Loyalty & Travel Services.
