Ryanair Launches 7 New Routes from London-Stansted, Seeks Tax Cut
Ryanair has announced the expansion of seven new routes from London-Stansted Airport for summer 2025, coinciding with the UK Government’s plans to expand major airports. This includes direct flights to destinations in Turkey, France, Germany, Austria, and Italy, along with increased frequencies on 30 existing routes. To support this growth, Ryanair will introduce an additional Boeing 737-8200, creating 30 new jobs. However, the airline criticizes the UK Labour Government’s planned increase in Airport Departure Tax (APD) for short-haul flights, arguing it could hinder growth and competitiveness and deter tourism.
