Edelweiss Air Introduces Fresh Cabin Design for A350-900 Fleet
On January 20, 2026, Edelweiss Air, a Swiss leisure airline under the Lufthansa Group, announced its new cabin designs for the Airbus A350-900 fleet.
The airline welcomed its first A350-900 in March 2025 and currently possesses four of these aircraft, with two more set to join the fleet soon. These planes were previously with LATAM Airlines, which opted to retire its entire A350 fleet in 2021, shifting towards the B787 for long-haul flights. For now, Edelweiss has maintained the existing cabin layout, which includes 30 Business class and 309 Economy class seats.
Revamped Cabin Interiors
The new cabin designs are part of a comprehensive refurbishing project, organized under the motto “More room to feel good,” which encompasses all cabin classes. The airline has chosen a minimalist aesthetic, featuring a softer color palette, predominantly using various shades of blue, and emphasizing clean, uncomplicated lines. This approach aims to evoke a sense of tranquility and sophistication onboard.
Premium Experience Enhancements
Edelweiss Air strives to enhance the overall flying experience by increasing seat space across all classes by three centimeters. The introduction of a Premium Economy section will feature 28 ZIMPrivacy hard-shell seats, adding a touch of luxury to the journey.
In Business class, passengers can look forward to new lie-flat Thompson Vantage XL+ seats, which will provide direct aisle access. Notably, half of these seats will be double configurations, tailored for couples traveling together. A select number of Business class seats will also transform into Business Suites, offering additional privacy with fitted doors and more spacious layouts.
In-Flight Amenities
All seats will come equipped with power outlets, including USB-C and USB-A ports, alongside 4K seatback screens that support Bluetooth audio connectivity. Guests will also have access to an extensive inflight entertainment (IFE) system featuring over 400 films and series, along with 3D flight maps and external cameras to enhance the viewing experience.
Another exciting addition is the planned high-speed internet access powered by SpaceX’s Starlink. This service will be offered free of charge to registered users, further elevating the in-flight experience for all passengers.
Projected Timeline for Updates
Edelweiss Air anticipates that the first retrofitted aircraft will be operational by December 2026, with the entire A350 fleet undergoing refurbishment into mid-2027.
