Air India Express Launches Nonstop Flights to Bangkok: A New Era of Affordable Travel

Air India Express, the low-cost subsidiary of Air India, has officially announced the commencement of nonstop flights to Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi International Airport starting December 20th. With direct flights from Surat and Pune to Thailand’s vibrant capital, this marks a significant expansion for the airline, making Bangkok its 15th international destination.

As part of its ambitious growth strategy following the merger with AIX Connect, Air India Express is set to unveil several new routes, with Bangkok being the first in a series of exciting announcements.

AIX Bangkok Flights: Convenient Travel Options

Air India Express will operate flights from Pune to Bangkok three times weekly on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. The outbound flight will depart Pune (PNQ) at 08:40, arriving in Bangkok (BKK) at 14:30—a total flight time of approximately 4 hours and 20 minutes. The return journey will leave Bangkok at 15:35, landing back in Pune at 18:25, maintaining the same block time. These flights are expected to be serviced by the Boeing 737 family of aircraft.

The airline has a significant presence in the United Arab Emirates, serving multiple cities including Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Sharjah. Other international routes include destinations across the Middle East such as Jeddah, Riyadh, and Doha, along with flights to Dhaka, Bangladesh, and Singapore.

Air India Express Expansion Plans

Air India Express currently services 47 destinations across India and Asia with a fleet of 90 aircraft. The airline aims to expand to 55 cities by March 2025, with plans to boost its fleet to 110 airplanes. Furthermore, an order for 155 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft will enhance its operational capacity significantly in the coming years.

In addition to Bangkok, Air India Express is expected to launch flights to Phuket and other Southeast Asian cities soon. Domestic expansions will also see the introduction of flights to Dimapur and Patna shortly.
