Edelweiss Air Unveils Exciting Summer 2025 Flight Plans: New Destinations and Increased Frequencies
Edelweiss Air, the leisure division of SWISS International Airlines and a member of the Lufthansa Group, has announced significant enhancements to its flight offerings for the summer of 2025. With plans to introduce seven new destinations and boost frequencies on existing routes, Edelweiss aims for its busiest summer season yet. By June 2025, the Zurich-based airline will serve a total of 93 destinations across 37 countries, catering to the growing demand for leisure travel.
New Long-Haul Destinations and Enhanced Services
Starting June 2, 2025, Edelweiss Air will launch twice-weekly flights from Zurich (ZRH) to Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA). Following this, the airline will also introduce flights to Halifax-Stanfield International Airport (YHZ) on July 3, 2025, maintaining the same twice-weekly frequency.
Notable Short-Haul Additions
Edelweiss is expanding its short-haul offerings as well. New routes include:
- Tbilisi, Georgia: Twice weekly starting April 12, 2025.
- Bristol, UK: Twice weekly from June 2, 2025.
- Terceira, Azores: Once weekly from June 25, 2025.
- Zadar, Croatia: Twice weekly from June 28, 2025.
- Calvi, Corsica: Once weekly starting July 6, 2025.
These additions highlight Edelweiss’s commitment to providing diverse travel options for summer vacationers.
Increased Frequencies to Popular Destinations
Edelweiss will also enhance its service to popular vacation spots:
- Sardinia: New daily flights to Olbia (OLB) and Cagliari (CAG).
- Faro, Portugal: Up to six weekly flights.
- Madeira, Portugal: Up to eight weekly flights.
- Ponta Delgada, Azores: Increased to three weekly flights alongside new weekly services to Terceira.
Expanding Southeast European Routes
The airline will broaden its reach in Southeast Europe with:
- Pristina, Kosovo: Two daily flights.
- Tivat, Montenegro: Three weekly flights.
- Varna, Bulgaria: Two weekly flights.
Additionally, service to Croatia will see a boost with daily flights to Split (SPU) and new routes to Pula (PUY) and Zadar.
Enhanced UK and Nordic Services
Edelweiss will also expand its services to the UK, featuring up to ten weekly flights to Edinburgh (EDI) and new routes to Bristol. Flights to Iceland, Finland, and Norway will be more accessible, including new Friday flights to Akureyri (AEY) and improved schedules to Tromsø (TOS).
Long-Haul Expansion: North America and Beyond
As part of its long-haul expansion, Edelweiss Air will increase its service to North America, offering:
- Tampa, Florida: Up to five weekly flights.
- Las Vegas, Nevada: Up to three weekly flights with new Airbus A350s starting mid-May 2025.
- Denver, Colorado: Up to four times a week.
- Vancouver, Canada: Daily flights with the new A350 from July 2025.
Additionally, flights to Kilimanjaro (JRO) and Zanzibar (ZNZ) in Tanzania will increase to three times a week during the summer peak.
Modern Fleet Enhancements
Edelweiss Air operates a modern fleet that includes 14 Airbus A320s and five A340-300s. The airline is set to welcome its first Airbus A350-900 in spring 2025, enhancing passenger experience with the latest in aviation technology and comfort.
