Air India Express has strategically strengthened its presence in Eastern India by connecting Bhubaneswar to key cities such as Kochi, Jaipur, Lucknow, and Patna. The expansion doesn’t stop there; the airline has also introduced new connections from Bengaluru to Patna and Dammam. Hyderabad is set to benefit from three new destinations—Indore, Patna, and Phuket.

Other significant additions include:

  • Chennai to Port Blair
  • Mangaluru to Pune
  • Trichy to Dammam
  • Guwahati to Dimapur

Most of these routes will be serviced by Boeing 737-8 aircraft, with many sectors enjoying seven weekly flight frequencies, ensuring convenient travel options for passengers.

Other Airlines Expanding Their Routes

In addition to Air India Express, other carriers are also enhancing their route networks. Akasa Air (QP) has launched a Mumbai-Ayodhya route, focusing on religious tourism, with seven weekly departures using Boeing 737-8 aircraft. This service began on January 10, 2025.

  • Hyderabad: Daily connections using A320neo.
  • Kolkata: Daily flights with A319 aircraft, pending schedule confirmation.
