Emirates Introduces Refurbished Boeing 777 Aircraft to Seoul and London Stansted
DUBAI – Emirates Airlines (EK) has announced the deployment of its refurbished Boeing 777 aircraft to key international destinations, starting with Seoul, South Korea, on April 14, and London Stansted, UK, on May 7. This strategic move comes as the airline enhances its cabin offerings with upgraded interiors and modern amenities, making travel more luxurious and comfortable for passengers.
The newly retrofitted Boeing 777 will operate on flights EK324/325 between Dubai (DXB) and Seoul three times a week, specifically on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. This exciting development is part of Emirates’ ongoing commitment to providing top-tier travel experiences.
Emirates Retrofitted Boeing 777 Routes
Seoul marks the second East Asian destination to welcome the refurbished aircraft, which now features the award-winning Premium Economy class alongside a newly configured Business Class cabin. By July 2025, Emirates plans to expand its offerings to over 3,150 weekly Premium Economy seats across six major Southeast and East Asian destinations. These include:
- Tokyo-Narita
- Tokyo-Haneda
- Osaka
- Singapore
- Seoul
- Shenzhen
This expansion will utilize a combination of Boeing 777s and the iconic A380s.
London Stansted joins the ranks of London Heathrow and Edinburgh as the third UK destination to showcase Emirates’ latest onboard products. The airline’s European network served by the four-class Boeing 777 also includes Brussels, Geneva, Zurich, Vienna, and Athens.
Upgrades in Cabin Comfort and Design
The retrofitted Boeing 777 features Emirates’ signature Premium Economy cabins, blending accessible luxury with unparalleled comfort. The new Business Class arrangement boasts a 1-2-1 configuration that ensures maximum privacy and direct aisle access for every passenger. Each seat is equipped with fully flat beds and personal mini-bars, while select aircraft offer First Class Gamechanger suites, providing an extraordinary level of luxury.
All cabin classes benefit from upgraded interiors that showcase new design elements, modern color palettes, and refined wood finishes, enhanced by specially designed Ghaf Tree motifs that reflect Emirates’ commitment to quality.

Emirates’ Major Retrofit Programme
Emirates Airlines is investing approximately $5 billion in its retrofit programme, which is recognized as the largest in the world. This initiative is a strategic response to ongoing supply chain disruptions affecting the aviation industry. By retrofitting its existing aircraft, Emirates aims to maintain operational efficiency amid manufacturing delays impacting new aircraft deliveries.
During a recent press conference in Berlin, Emirates President Tim Clark emphasized the airline’s proactive approach to addressing fleet challenges, stating, “We’ve had to take control of our own destiny.” The retrofit initiative primarily targets the airline’s Airbus A380 and Boeing 777 fleets, with upgrades taking place at its engineering facilities in Dubai. These enhancements include new cabin interiors and critical system improvements designed to extend the operational lifespan of the aircraft.
