Malaysia Airlines has officially launched its striking new Airbus A330neo livery featuring Manchester United, a move designed to celebrate a significant milestone in the airline’s branding. The reveal took place at the MATTA Fair 2025 in Kuala Lumpur, marking an exciting new chapter for the flag carrier. This collaboration symbolizes the fusion of aviation and sports, showcasing the airline’s commitment to connecting people worldwide through shared passions.
A Bold Design Representing Unity and Strength
The eye-catching A330-900 livery incorporates vibrant red lines inspired by both the Malaysian flag and Manchester United’s iconic colors. This design represents "harmony, strength, and unity between aviation and sports," according to Malaysia Airlines. Izham Ismail, Group Managing Director of Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG), emphasized that this partnership reflects shared values of excellence and global ambition.
- Key Highlights of the New Livery:

A New Era of Partnership
Malaysia Airlines became Manchester United’s official commercial airline in March 2024 through a multi-year global partnership. This collaboration follows the termination of a previous partnership with Aeroflot after the geopolitical tensions that arose from the Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022.
Expanded Flight Services and New Aircraft Features
In addition to the livery reveal, Malaysia Airlines announced a return to Brisbane, Australia, reinstating direct flights to Queensland starting November 29, 2025. This move complements increased flight frequencies to Sydney and Melbourne, utilizing the new A330neo fleet.
- New Flight Services Include:
- Direct flights to Brisbane resuming in late 2025.
- Increased frequencies to popular destinations like Sydney, Melbourne, Auckland, Surabaya, Phuket, and Trivandrum.
At the MATTA Fair 2025, the airline also showcased its innovative lie-flat Business Class seats for the Boeing 737 MAX 10, a first for its narrowbody fleet. Malaysia Airlines has ordered ten Boeing 737 MAX 10 aircraft, set to enter service in 2026.
Enhancing the Travel Experience
“With the introduction of lie-flat Business Class seats on our new Boeing 737-10 aircraft, we are redefining the travel experience for our guests,” Ismail added. “Our commitment to elevating services is guided by our vision to be among the world’s leading airlines, infused with Malaysian Hospitality.”
