On April 23, 2025, BOC Aviation, a Singapore-based lessor, confirmed that it had signed an agreement to deliver five Airbus A321neo aircraft to Thai Airways from its existing order book. This delivery is part of THAI’s broader strategy to modernize its fleet with advanced technology.

Just a day prior, on April 22, 2025, the China Aircraft Leasing Group (CALC) announced its first collaboration with Thai Airways, agreeing to provide nine Airbus A321neo aircraft in phases from 2026 to 2028. This partnership marks a significant milestone for both parties and highlights Thai Airways’ status as one of Southeast Asia’s leading flag carriers.

Thai Airways has strategically utilized lease agreements to bolster its fleet over the past two years. Notable past agreements include:

  • February 5, 2025: Thai Airways announced a lease agreement with Dublin-based SMBC Aviation Capital for eight new Airbus A321neo aircraft, scheduled for delivery in 2026 and 2027.
  • February 26, 2024: The airline signed a deal with Air Lease Corporation for three Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners.
  • February 21, 2024: Thai Airways and AerCap confirmed a lease for a mix of Boeing and Airbus aircraft.
