Qatar Airways’ Strategic Fleet Expansion

As Qatar Airways prepares for this substantial order, sources close to the matter indicate that final negotiations are underway. The airline’s Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), Thierry Antinori, previously hinted at this development during a March 4, 2025, interview with Reuters. He emphasized the importance of maintaining a modern and competitive fleet, stating:

“To secure the growth of tomorrow by continuing to have a very strong and the best fleet in the industry, our CEO is working on the RFP (request for proposal) with the aircraft manufacturer to place a big order soon.”

While Antinori did not disclose whether the deal would be exclusively with Boeing, Airbus, or a combination of both manufacturers, the anticipation surrounding this announcement continues to grow.
