AJet Takes Delivery of First Two Boeing 737 MAX 8 Aircraft

Turkish Airlines’ low-cost subsidiary, AJet, has proudly welcomed its first two Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft. These aircraft have been provided by Irish lessor CDB Aviation, marking a significant milestone for the airline.

CDB Aviation, a division of China Development Bank Financial Leasing, announced on August 14, 2025, the successful delivery of these 737-8s. They were sourced from an existing order with Boeing specifically for Turkish Airlines.

The acquisition aims for the 737 MAX 8 airliners to be integrated into AJet’s fleet throughout 2025 and 2026. This agreement, which was secured in 2023, underscores the growing collaboration between Turkish Airlines and CDB Aviation.

Jie Chen, CEO of CDB Aviation, expressed enthusiasm about this partnership, stating, “We are very pleased to further advance the ongoing strong collaboration with our valued customer, Turkish Airlines.” He highlighted that this influx of MAX 8 deliveries aligns with AJet’s ambition to carve out a niche in the global low-cost aviation sector.

As reported by ch-aviation, these two aircraft, with registration numbers TC-OHB and TC-OHA, were originally ordered back in November 2017. They were delivered on August 7 and August 11, 2025, respectively, and are currently stored at Sabiha Gökçen International Airport (SAW) awaiting deployment.

In addition to the Boeing aircraft, AJet signed a leasing agreement with SMBC Aviation Capital in July 2025 for five Airbus A320neo planes.

AJet commenced operations in 2024 after rebranding from AnadoluJet. Currently, the airline’s fleet includes five A320-200s, four A321neos, and 14 737-800s, showcasing its rapid growth in the aviation market.
