British Airways Reveals Complete Summer 2026 Schedule, Set to Rejoin Dallas

On August 21, 2025, British Airways shared exciting plans for summer 2026, announcing increased flight frequencies on several routes. Additionally, the airline is planning a return to some destinations after a brief pause in operations, primarily due to challenges related to the Boeing 787 Dreamliner fleet. Both of their hubs, London Heathrow (LHR) and London Gatwick (LGW), will enhance services, providing travelers with more options to explore popular global destinations.

One of the most noteworthy updates is the airline’s comeback to Dallas-Fort Worth Airport (DFW) in Texas, a significant hub for American Airlines, which is part of the Oneworld alliance. In November, British Airways had previously decided to suspend its Heathrow to DFW service for summer 2025. This decision stemmed from a need to synchronize schedules with American Airlines for the upcoming northern summer season. However, British Airways is set to resume this route with a daily flight from Heathrow starting in March 2026.

Miami (MIA) is another U.S. route poised for improved service. Like Dallas, British Airways had planned to reduce its flights between Heathrow and Miami from two daily to just one daily service in November 2024. American Airlines filled the gap by operating the additional flight. For summer 2026, British Airways will restore its double-daily service on the Miami route, enhancing connectivity for travelers.

A spokesperson for British Airways remarked in November 2024 that adjustments to U.S. flight frequencies for summer 2025 were made in response to ongoing difficulties with the Rolls-Royce Trent 1000 engines, which power many of its long-haul flights on the Boeing 787 fleet.

In addition to these U.S. destinations, British Airways has ramped up its services to Las Vegas with an increase from 10 to 13 flights per week from Heathrow Terminal 5. Plans for New York’s JFK Airport include operating nine flights from Heathrow, alongside an additional weekly flight to Kingston, Jamaica, from London Gatwick, amounting to four flights per week during summer 2026. British Airways holds the distinction of being the longest-serving UK airline in the Caribbean.

Not Just U.S. Flights

British Airways has revealed enhancements beyond U.S. routes. Flights between London Gatwick Airport and Bangkok resumed in November 2024 after a four-year break, and now the airline plans to upgrade this route to year-round service starting in summer 2026. Previously a winter-only route, flights will now operate three times a week, with an increase to six weekly flights during the winter season of 2026/27. This change demonstrates the airline’s commitment to meeting rising travel demand to Southeast Asia. Overall, British Airways anticipates offering nearly 60,000 additional seats for travelers heading to Bangkok in 2026. Their codeshare partnership with Bangkok Airways now allows for convenient onward connections to places like Phuket and Phnom Penh.

In the Middle East

British Airways will also introduce a daily flight from Heathrow to Bahrain (BAH), significantly increasing its weekly services to the region. Connections to Saudi Arabia are set to improve, with Jeddah increasing to five flights weekly and Riyadh enhancing to 14 weekly services. Furthermore, British Airways will offer 14 flights each week to Doha, providing more travel flexibility to Qatar.

Neil Chernoff, British Airways’ Chief Planning and Strategy Officer, expressed enthusiasm about expanding their long-haul network from London Heathrow and Gatwick next summer. He hopes that the additional flights will provide greater choice and convenience for travelers, whether they are flying for business, leisure, or to visit loved ones.

A Growing Network

As the national airline of the UK, British Airways connects over 200 destinations across 65 countries, including routes with partner airlines. The airline proudly states that it offers more routes from London than any other carrier. Operated from three major airports—London Heathrow, London Gatwick, and London City (LCY)—British Airways has further expanded its network with recent additions, including Tbilisi in Georgia and Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia.
