IndiGo Launches New International Routes from Mumbai with Boeing 787
GURGAON- IndiGo Airlines (6E) is set to introduce direct international flights connecting Mumbai (BOM) to Copenhagen (CPH) beginning October 8, 2025. This new route signifies IndiGo’s inaugural entrance into Scandinavia, enhancing its European network and serving Indian travelers better.
The service will run three times a week utilizing a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, sourced through a wet lease from Norse Atlantic Airways (N0). This initiative emphasizes IndiGo’s commitment to expanding its international long-haul flight operations.


IndiGo’s New International Flights
The route from Mumbai to Copenhagen offers a direct link between India’s major economic center and Denmark’s capital.
Flights will depart from Mumbai at 04:35 IST, reaching Copenhagen at 22:05 local time. The return trip has flights leaving at 12:30, arriving in Mumbai shortly after midnight.
CEO Pieter Elbers highlighted that this addition is IndiGo’s 44th international destination. With Copenhagen now part of its portfolio, the airline caters to 138 destinations globally.
This route also positions Denmark as a key entry point to the Nordic area, enhancing travel connections between India and Scandinavia.


IndiGo’s Aircraft and Leasing Information
IndiGo will utilize the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, a specially designed aircraft for long-haul flights.
This Dreamliner is recognized for its fuel efficiency, quieter engines, larger windows, and enhanced cabin pressurization, ensuring a pleasant experience for passengers.
The aircraft will operate under a wet lease from Norse Atlantic Airways (N0), which encompasses not just the plane but also the crew, maintenance, and insurance. This allows IndiGo to rapidly launch long-haul routes without the need for owning a fleet of wide-body aircraft.
