Cathay Pacific Expands in North America with New Seattle Service

Cathay Pacific is set to make a significant return to the U.S. technology hub of Seattle, marking it as the ninth city in North America to be added to its flight roster.

On September 9, 2025, the airline announced that it would kick off non-stop flights to Seattle starting March 30, 2026, with plans to operate five weekly flights between Hong Kong and the vibrant U.S. city.

Cathay Pacific highlighted Seattle’s dynamic atmosphere and robust tech industry, with major companies like Microsoft and Amazon calling the city home.

Cathay’s Chief Commercial Officer, Lavinia Lau, expressed her enthusiasm: “We are excited to resume direct passenger flights to Seattle, enhancing our commitment to strengthen business and cultural connections between Hong Kong and this lively tech hub in the United States. This route not only offers greater convenience for our travelers but also meets the rising demand for connectivity between Asia and North America, especially among passengers from the Chinese Mainland and India.”

The Seattle route will utilize Cathay Pacific’s Airbus A350-900 aircraft, offering luxurious features like fully flat beds in business class and premium seating in economy.

As of 2026, Cathay’s North American itinerary comprises Seattle, Boston, Chicago, Dallas-Fort Worth, Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, Toronto, and Vancouver.

Flights to Seattle will operate on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, with return trips scheduled for the same day.

Additionally, the airline is expanding its direct flight offerings between Hong Kong and Dallas-Fort Worth Airport (DFW).

The service to Seattle initially began in April 2025, operating four times a week, but will transition to daily flights starting October 26, 2025.
