Greenway expressed enthusiasm about the new routes, stating, “It’s a momentous occasion to finally launch our Damascus flights from two gateway cities in the Kingdom, long needed to help many Syrians travel back to their homeland and reunite with family and friends.”

He added, “With over two million Syrians living and working in the Kingdom, restoring air links provides great relief and will support the economic redevelopment of Syria as the country embarks on rebuilding its infrastructure while attracting much-needed investment from the international community.”

In a special interview with AeroTime in May 2025, Greenway discussed the positive shift in travel to the region following a visit from US President Trump. He noted that this visit unexpectedly contributed to the normalization of relations with Syria, leading to the lifting of several sanctions.
