Air Astana Enhances Winter 2025-2026 Routes to Asia and the Middle East
Air Astana is broadening its international reach for the 2025-2026 winter season, as demand for regional travel continues to grow. The airline is restoring routes and enhancing capacity throughout the Middle East and Asia.
Resuming Flights to Iconic Destinations
The Kazakh flag carrier has reinstated flights from Almaty and Shymkent to Jeddah, the gateway to Mecca in Saudi Arabia, starting in September 2025. Later in October 2025, services to Medina will commence. This schedule will provide travelers from Kazakhstan with improved access to pilgrimage sites as flights from Astana and Aktau will alternate between Jeddah and Medina.
Reintroducing Popular Leisure Routes
In Asia, Air Astana is reviving various sought-after leisure routes. Flights from Almaty to Malé in the Maldives and Phu Quoc in Vietnam are set to restart in late October 2025, with increased frequencies during the peak holiday season. Additionally, routes between Astana and Phu Quoc will operate three times per week.
Enhancing Connectivity to the UAE and Thailand
Air Astana is also increasing the frequency of established routes to the United Arab Emirates and Thailand. Weekly flights from Almaty to Dubai will rise from seven to twelve, while Astana–Dubai routes will see an increase from seven to ten flights a week. Furthermore, the airline plans to offer daily services between Almaty and both Bangkok and Phuket.
Modern Aircraft for Optimal Performance
All flights will be operated using Airbus A320neo and A321LR aircraft from Air Astana’s advanced narrowbody fleet, which is well-suited for medium-haul routes.
As Air Astana continues to expand its offerings, how do you think these new routes will impact travel options for travelers in Kazakhstan?
