IndiGo Launches New Flights from Mumbai to London Heathrow

IndiGo has revealed its intention to start direct daily flights from Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Airport (BOM) to London-Heathrow Airport (LHR) beginning October 26, 2025. This exciting development marks a significant addition to the airline’s expanding international network.

India’s largest airline introduced its Manchester service in July 2025 and shortly thereafter announced plans for the Heathrow route in August. Currently, however, the specifics of which Indian city will connect to Heathrow remain uncertain.

On October 6, 2025, IndiGo confirmed that the service will utilize Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners operated on a wet/damp lease from Norse Atlantic Airways. Passengers can look forward to both economy class seats and IndiGo’s business offering, IndiGoStretch.

IndiGo characterized this new route as a “major milestone” in its global expansion strategy, which also includes recent flights to Amsterdam.

With the positive feedback from its initial long-haul flights to Manchester, the airline aims to enhance travel options and connectivity between India and the rest of the world.

Heathrow Airport has also embraced this new service, emphasizing its potential to connect passengers to IndiGo’s vast network from Mumbai. Ross Baker, Heathrow’s Chief Customer Officer, remarked, “This route strengthens crucial ties between the UK and India, fostering opportunities for trade, tourism, and cultural exchange. We’re eager to assist IndiGo in its international growth, providing more options for travelers between these two iconic cities.”
