EVA Air Launches New Premium Economy Service to Exciting US City
TAOYUAN- EVA Air (BR) has unveiled a new nonstop route linking Dallas Fort Worth (DFW) with Taipei Taoyuan (TPE), marking the introduction of its latest premium economy offering in the United States.
This expansion enhances EVA’s American network and establishes DFW as an increasingly important transpacific hub.

EVA Air Premium Economy to Dallas
The introduction of nonstop flights to Dallas signifies the U.S. debut of EVA’s fourth-generation premium economy cabin. This initiative underscores EVA’s commitment to enhancing travel comfort for long-haul passengers who prefer premium service without the full business class price.
Moving beyond older recliner styles, this new cabin features a generous 42-inch pitch, cradle-style recline, 15.6-inch HD displays, privacy dividers, and contemporary power and storage options.
EVA has offered a premium economy seat since 1992, but this latest iteration represents a significant upgrade in both design and comfort, especially on the Boeing 787-9 featuring a 2-3-2 seating layout.

Route Structure and Network
- The DFW–TPE route officially launched on October 3, 2025, with three weekly round-trips (Flight BR50/BR49).
- Starting November 18, the frequency will increase to five flights per week; from December 15, daily service will be available.
- Operations will utilize the Boeing 787-9 in a three-class setup (Royal Laurel / Premium Economy / Economy).
- DFW represents EVA’s second Texas destination, following Houston, and expands its North American presence to nine gateways.
- The new nonstop route supports DFW’s ambitions as a key Pacific hub, alongside existing flights from Cathay Pacific and Fiji Airways.

Cabin Design & Passenger Experience
Seat Configuration and Mechanism
The premium economy cabin features 28 seats arranged in a 2-3-2 configuration, offering a 42-inch pitch and a cradle motion recline. Privacy wings on the headrests and dedicated storage in the armrests enhance the passenger experience.
In-Flight Amenities
Every seat is equipped with a 15.6-inch HD screen, AC and USB power outlets, and integrated storage options for personal devices. Additionally, EVA provides amenity kits, pillows, comforters, and eco-friendly items like bamboo fiber napkins.
Comparison with Previous Configurations
Compared to previous configurations on the 777 aircraft, EVA’s revised premium economy offers a wider pitch (approximately 38 inches) and moves to a modern 2-4-2 layout. The latest 787 model significantly improves space, privacy, and amenities.

Strategic & Market Impact
The introduction of this premium economy service in the U.S. targets travelers seeking more than basic economy but not quite full business class. It enhances EVA’s financial potential by refining its product offerings.
The new connection boosts DFW’s reputation for Asian links and diversifies its long-haul network effectively.
This initiative also demonstrates a broader industry recognition of premium economy as a pivotal growth market in transpacific travel.

EVA Air provides various options for booking flights and utilizing miles for this route. Travelers can transfer credit card rewards, such as Citi ThankYou and Capital One Miles, to EVA’s Infinity MileageLands program.
