Japan Airlines Announces Nonstop Flights from Tokyo to Delhi Starting January 2026

Japan Airlines (JAL) has revealed an exciting development: starting January 17, 2026, it will launch direct flights from Tokyo Narita Airport (NRT) to Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL).

This new route will enhance JAL’s existing services from Tokyo Haneda Airport (HND) to Delhi, providing passengers with improved options and connections. Those traveling between India and Japan can expect better accessibility to JAL’s comprehensive domestic and international network.

Travel Demand Growth

Travel demand between India and Japan, as well as North America, has surged due to the rapid growth of India’s economy. JAL anticipates that the new Narita-Delhi service will catalyze further travel expansion across these regions.

Strengthening Connectivity

The introduction of this route, alongside the existing Narita-Bengaluru flights, bolsters Narita Airport’s role as a key connecting hub for these markets. This makes it easier for passengers to traverse between India and Japan effortlessly.

Enhanced Codeshare Agreement

Additionally, JAL is set to enhance its collaboration with Indian airline IndiGo through a new codeshare agreement. This partnership will improve connectivity, allowing travelers to have better options when flying between the two countries.

As travel possibilities expand, are you considering a trip from India to Japan or vice versa?
