Air France Opens New Lounge at Chicago O’Hare International Airport
Air France has proudly opened its inaugural dedicated lounge at Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD), providing travelers with a chic, French-inspired retreat before their journeys.
Situated in Terminal 5 of ORD, this spacious 470-square-meter lounge features a total of 105 seats and operates from 05:00 to 23:30 daily. Managed in collaboration with Global Lounge Network, it welcomes Air France Business class travelers, Flying Blue Elite Plus members, and qualifying KLM flyers.
Design Reflects French Aviation Heritage
The aesthetic of the lounge, crafted by Air France in partnership with design agency SGK Brandimage, effectively embodies the airline’s essence through thoughtfully selected design elements.
Expansive bay windows enhance the lounge’s high ceilings, flooding the area with natural light and offering views of the busy airport runways.
Inside, Air France’s iconic winged seahorse logo and vintage posters celebrating its aviation heritage establish a distinctive atmosphere. The color scheme incorporates the airline’s signature blue and white hues, accented with touches of red.
This launch represents Air France’s first standalone lounge at ORD, enhancing its premium ground services in one of its key U.S. locations.

French Cuisine Takes Center Stage
The lounge’s focal point is a dining area designed for an authentic French culinary experience, accommodating up to 40 guests. A spacious communal table promotes social interaction among visitors.
The menu varies throughout the day, featuring an array of hot and cold dishes, including both savory and sweet options with vegetarian selections available. Signature dishes include beef bourguignon, country-style chicken, and a delightful chocolate mousse topped with caramel cream.
To ensure sustainability, Air France employs practices that prioritize local and seasonal ingredients. The lounge implements measures to reduce food waste and adopts sorting and recycling systems for catering materials, while water fountains help limit single-use plastic.
Lounge Amenities and Layout
The lounge provides diverse seating choices to cater to various passenger needs. Guests can find comfortable seating throughout the main area, whether it’s for relaxation, work, or dining.
For those with long layovers, private relaxation zones offer plush ottomans and seats that overlook the runway. Additionally, a quiet work area and a dedicated phone booth contribute to a serene environment for all guests.
