Emirates Expands Flight Services to Africa’s Largest City
DUBAI– Emirates Airline (EK) is gearing up to enhance its service to Cairo (CAI) by introducing a fifth daily flight on the Dubai–Cairo route. This upgrade comes after the addition of six extra weekly frequencies starting December 1, 2025, leading to a full daily service beginning February 1, 2026.
Starting December 1, 2025, six new weekly flights will be operational on this route to accommodate the winter peak season. By February 2026, the newly scheduled daily flight will complement the existing four flights, resulting in a total of five daily flights.

Emirates Enhances Cairo Service
The expanded schedule for Emirates employs the Boeing 777 on the Dubai (DXB)–Cairo (CAI) route. This timing aims to optimize connections for travelers heading to major Asian destinations like Hong Kong, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Thailand.
This expansion will also boost cargo capacity, providing an additional 300 tonnes of belly-hold space per week on the Boeing 777 flights. This increase is vital for facilitating trade and exporting fresh produce from Egypt.
Cairo stands out as one of Emirates’ earliest international destinations, holding a significant position in its network. Notably, it will have the highest deployment of Emirates’ A380 aircraft in the Middle East and North Africa, outside of Dubai.
With the introduction of the fifth daily flight, Cairo will become the most frequented destination in Emirates’ African network. Since its inception in 1986, the airline has successfully transported over 10 million passengers to and from Egypt.

Growing Travel Demand
From December 1 to January 31, Emirates will provide this route daily except Thursdays. In February, this service will operate fully every day.
The increase in capacity addresses the rising demand for leisure and corporate travel between Egypt and the UAE, underlining Emirates’ role as a key carrier connecting Egypt via Dubai to Asia and other long-haul destinations.
For Egyptian exporters, particularly those in fresh produce such as strawberries and other fruits, the added cargo capacity presents an opportunity for faster and more reliable access to global markets through Emirates SkyCargo.

Strengthening Bilateral Ties
The increase in flight frequencies highlights the robust bilateral relations between Egypt and the UAE, extending across tourism, industry, and commerce.
Improved air connectivity is expected to further enhance trade and investment ties, as well as promote tourism between the two nations.
Upon announcing the route expansion, Adnan Kazim, Emirates’ Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer, stated:
The additional service will ease connections across our network while strengthening trade and tourism links between Egypt, the UAE, and beyond. As we approach our 40th anniversary of operations to Cairo, the enhanced schedule reflects our ongoing commitment to the region. We are grateful to the Egyptian authorities for their support in securing this new frequency…

Final Thoughts
Emirates’ plan to add a fifth daily flight between Dubai and Cairo signifies a noteworthy enhancement in capacity and connectivity for the Egyptian–UAE market.
With services set to roll out incrementally from December 2025 and operating daily from February 2026, this development is a strong boost for both passenger and cargo flows.
Moreover, for Cairo, this upgrade cements its status as Emirates’ most-served African city and underscores the airline’s strategic commitment to Egypt’s aviation, tourism, and trade landscape.
