Abra Group Nears Acquisition of SKY Airline from Avianca and Gol Owner

Avianca and Gol owner Abra Group is nearing a deal to acquire a majority interest in Chilean airline SKY Airline, having submitted necessary documentation to regulatory bodies for approval.

On November 10, 2025, Abra Group announced that it finalized an agreement-in-principle with SKY, paving the way for the airline to join its wider network.

Following the completion of final documentation and closing conditions, the current majority stakeholders in SKY will transition to minority status within Abra Group.

H2: Maintaining Brand Identity and Operations

SKY Airline will retain its brand, culture, and personnel, with Holger Paulmann remaining as Chairman of the Board.

Abra Group affirmed that SKY will preserve its existing internal processes, sales channels, and customer service systems, ensuring continuity in its operations.

Based in the UK, Abra Group currently holds a 40% equity stake in SKY, with the Mast and Paulmann families holding the majority.

“This is exciting news for both our company and our passengers,” remarked Holger Paulmann, President of SKY Airline. “After the preliminary agreement receives the necessary approvals, SKY will join a group that operates a fleet of over 300 aircraft, connecting more than 140 destinations across 25 countries.

He also noted, “This will provide additional routes, greater opportunities, and more options for travel, all while remaining true to our core values.”

Abra Group, which has investments in Spanish carrier Wamos Air, employs nearly 30,000 individuals and serves over 70 million passengers each year.
