Uzbekistan Airways Partners with Chinese Firms for Six New Airbus A321neos

Uzbekistan Airways experienced a bustling second day at the Dubai Airshow, marking a significant step in its fleet expansion. The airline has inked agreements with two Chinese lessors for a total of six new Airbus A321neo aircraft.

On November 18, 2025, Uzbekistan Airways announced its first Letter of Intent (LOI) with ICBC Aviation, a major player in aircraft leasing. This agreement will see the delivery of two new Airbus A321neo aircraft, designed with a two-class cabin setup, scheduled for arrival between 2027 and 2028.

This partnership with ICBC Aviation represents a new chapter in collaboration between the two companies. The new Airbus A321neo models will feature Airbus’s modern Airspace Premium cabins, a state-of-the-art in-flight entertainment system, and onboard internet connectivity.

“This cooperation with ICBC Aviation Leasing underscores Uzbekistan Airways’ commitment to fostering international partnerships, expanding its fleet with modern and fuel-efficient aircraft, and offering passengers new opportunities for comfortable and safe travel,” stated a spokesperson from Uzbekistan Airways.

Later, Uzbekistan Airways finalized a second LOI with China Aircraft Leasing Group (CALC) for four additional Airbus A321neo aircraft. This agreement builds on the existing relationship, bringing the total number of Airbus A321neo planes to six, set to be delivered between 2026 and 2028.

The latest batch of four Airbus A321neo aircraft is slated for delivery between 2027 and 2028, boosting Uzbekistan Airways’ A321neo fleet to a total of 15 aircraft.

“This milestone in our cooperation with CALC is vital for the modernization process at Uzbekistan Airways. We are continuously renewing our fleet, integrating advanced technologies, and prioritizing passenger comfort. The new Airbus A321neo aircraft represent efficiency and cutting-edge design, aligning with our strategy for sustainable development and competitiveness in the international market,” remarked Shukhrat Khudaykulov, Chairman of the Board.
