FAA Prohibits Drone Flights Over New York and New Jersey
The FAA has imposed strict drone flight restrictions across New York and New Jersey, effective until January 17, 2025, due to unexplained nighttime drone activity. The ban prohibits drone operations over 22 critical infrastructure sites without government approval, following public concerns. Air India Achieves GDP Certification for Cargo Services
Air India, owned by Tata Group, has achieved the Good Distribution Practices (GDP) certification for its cargo operations, becoming the first Indian airline to do so. This certification reinforces its standing in the air cargo sector, particularly for transporting pharmaceuticals, with over 4,000 tonnes shipped in the fiscal year 2024-25. Air India connects GDP-certified stations in India, including Delhi and Mumbai, to major international destinations like New York and London. Air India Express Launches Three New Routes from Bhubaneshwar
Air India Express is expanding its network from Bhubaneswar’s Biju Patnaik International Airport with new direct flights to Jaipur, Kochi, and Lucknow starting January 2025. This expansion will improve connectivity, bringing Bhubaneswar’s total destinations to ten. The Jaipur service will operate four times a week, while Kochi flights will be daily. Additionally, Air India Express is increasing Kolkata flights to three daily to meet demand. The airline is also enhancing Northeast India operations, with increased flights to Guwahati, Imphal, and Agartala, and transitioning to an all-economy fleet configuration by 2025 to cater to budget travelers.
