ISLAMABAD- Pakistan is poised to become a key player in Turkey’s growing drone industry. Negotiations are underway for the assembly of advanced combat drones within Pakistan. These discussions come as Turkey sees record-breaking defense exports, solidifying its status in global security markets.

Turkey is eager to enhance its unmanned aircraft capabilities. Officials have confirmed a proposal to export stealth and long-endurance drone platforms for local assembly in Pakistan. These talks have been progressing since October.

Baykar, Turkey’s premier drone manufacturer, now exports to around 35 countries, and its products have been utilized in various conflicts, including those in Azerbaijan, Libya, and Ukraine.

Co-owned by Selçuk Bayraktar, known for his influence, the company often showcases its drones during international engagements.

Strengthening Defense Relationships

Turkey and Pakistan have already established cooperation on important defense initiatives. Ankara is currently engaged in the production of corvette-class warships for the Pakistani navy and has modernized much of Pakistan’s F-16 fleet.
