Air Canada Expands PAL Partnership to Operate More Regional Flights

Air Canada is poised to enhance its collaboration with PAL Airlines, which has been operating regional flights for Air Canada Express.

On January 8, 2026, the two airlines announced plans to extend their current agreement for an additional four years, lasting until 2032. As part of this extension, the fleet of PAL Airlines dedicated to this partnership will expand by five aircraft, bringing the total to eleven.

Air Canada and PAL Airlines have signed a letter of intent, which will be finalized following further negotiations.

Mark Galardo, Executive Vice President and CCO of Air Canada, expressed the airline’s commitment to fostering regional connectivity. He stated, “Our proposed agreement with PAL Airlines will enable us to protect existing services from Montréal to destinations in Québec and New Brunswick and support the overall growth of our regional network.”

Galardo further noted that since PAL Airlines began operating for Air Canada Express in 2023, it has proven to be a reliable partner, delivering quality customer service and expanding flight options for travelers in eastern Canada.

Under the extended agreement, PAL Airlines is set to add five more Dash 8-400 aircraft to its fleet for regional routes on behalf of Air Canada.

Calvin Ash, President of PAL Airlines, shared his enthusiasm for the expanded agreement. He emphasized, “This proposed extended arrangement with Air Canada reflects their confidence in our operation, supports the continued growth of our airline, and will solidify our presence in the regions that have contributed to our development.”
