Cathay Pacific’s The Bridge Lounge at Hong Kong International Airport Reopens with Impressive Upgrades

Cathay Pacific has officially reopened its highly anticipated lounge, The Bridge, at Hong Kong International Airport (HKG). This beloved space has undergone extensive renovations and upgrades, promising travelers an elevated experience during their journeys. With a prime location at HKG, The Bridge is designed to blend unique features with familiar favorites, making it a must-visit for passengers seeking comfort and luxury.

Originally opened in 2013, The Bridge was temporarily closed in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Although Cathay Pacific announced the lounge’s permanent closure in 2021, the surge in global premium travel prompted a change of heart. The airline has since invested in a multi-year upgrade plan to enhance its lounges at HKG Airport.

An Enhanced Lounge Experience Awaits

As part of the renovations, Cathay Pacific is preparing for additional upgrades to The Wing, First, which is scheduled to close on May 23, 2025, and reopen in 2026. The Wing, Business will also undergo renovations shortly after to ensure travelers continue to enjoy premium lounge offerings. Notably, The Deck, another of Cathay’s Business Class lounges, will close on May 21, 2025, for similar enhancements.

In a bold move, Cathay Pacific plans to launch new flagship lounges not only in Hong Kong but also at Beijing Capital International Airport (PEK) and New York’s John F. Kennedy Airport (JFK). This initiative is part of a significant investment exceeding HK$100 billion (approximately US$12.8 billion) aimed at improving aircraft, cabin products, lounges, and digital innovations.

The Redesigned Lounge: A Focus on Comfort and Convenience

Located near Departure Gate 35 in Terminal 1 at HKG Airport, the newly designed The Bridge lounge emphasizes a human-centric approach. By integrating thoughtful design elements and material choices, the lounge creates a residential ambiance that aims to make customers feel welcomed and valued.

One innovative feature of The Bridge is its upcoming biometric check-in system, which will be complemented by a traditional check-in desk for added convenience.

Culinary Delights Await

Food enthusiasts will be pleased to find Cathay Pacific’s iconic Noodle Bar within The Bridge. Guests can indulge in signature dishes such as wonton and dan dan noodles, along with a variety of dim sum. The rotating menu also introduces new Chinese favorites, including biangbiang mian and braised beef shin with cauliflower, complemented by vibrant salads and delectable desserts.

“Our goal was to create a space that feels genuinely welcoming,” said Guillaume Vivet, Cathay Pacific’s General Manager of Customer Experience Design. “From the furniture and dining options to the scent and music, every detail has been carefully considered to enhance comfort and create a refined atmosphere. The result is a space where customers can unwind and enrich their journeys.”

Experience The Bridge at HKG Airport

With its reopening, The Bridge lounge is set to redefine the premium travel experience at Hong Kong International Airport. Travelers can look forward to enjoying a combination of luxury, comfort, and exceptional service. Whether you’re heading to your next destination or just passing through, The Bridge promises a retreat designed to leave a lasting impression.
