Royal Air Maroc Secures Long-Term Lease for 13 New Boeing 737-8s
Morocco’s national airline, Royal Air Maroc, has entered into a long-term leasing agreement with Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE) for a total of 13 new Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft.
On January 29, 2026, DAE, which operates under the Investment Corporation of Dubai, confirmed that these new jets are expected to be delivered in 2027.
Abdelhamid Addou, the Chairman and CEO of Royal Air Maroc, expressed that this deal would enhance the airline’s capability to meet the rising demand while ensuring dependable connectivity throughout Africa, Europe, and further afield.
“This agreement aligns perfectly with Royal Air Maroc’s ambitions to become a leading global connectivity provider. The Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft will bolster our network development, allowing us to open new routes and increase flight frequencies while improving operational efficiency,” Addou noted.
Firoz Tarapore, CEO of DAE, remarked on the significance of the agreement, stating, “We extend our gratitude to the Royal Air Maroc team for selecting DAE for this important fleet expansion initiative. Morocco is emerging as a vibrant tourist and business hub in Africa, with Royal Air Maroc at the forefront of expanding air travel. We eagerly anticipate the introduction of these new Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft into the fleet and look forward to supporting Royal Air Maroc’s future fleet needs.”
Previously, DAE and Royal Air Maroc collaborated on a lease agreement that brought two Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft to Morocco last year, marking the inception of their partnership.
The first aircraft, registered as CN-RHH, was delivered in June 2025, followed by the second.
DAE mentioned at that time, “The entire timeline from signing the agreement to the delivery of the first aircraft was exceptionally brief, showcasing our teams’ efficiency and the strength of our newly formed partnership.”
